WCWI and Network Health Team Up to Give Back

For 27 years, the Wellness Council of Wisconsin’s (WCWI) Annual Conference has provided wellness practitioners throughout the Midwest an opportunity to get inspired, gain new insights, and leave with a plan. This year’s theme is Your Point of Inflection.

Points of Inflection are windows of opportunity that serve as catalysts to create a turning point or change. Our agenda delivers emerging ideas that will provide your window of opportunity to enhance employee well-being, deepen organizational culture, and create meaningful employee experiences.  Conference attendees will also receive their window of opportunity to give back to the community.

Last year, Network Health sponsored our exhibitor activity, “Ignite the Spark of Giving in You”, which totaled a donation of nearly $3,000 given between NAMI, LIVE54218, and myTeam Triumph. Similar to last year, we’ve chosen three deserving charities to support. This year, the charities are based in southeastern Wisconsin and offer exemplary services that support health and wellbeing. Network Health’s mission is to enhance the life, health and wellness of the people they serve. Supporting organizations like Pathfinders, MKE Plays and the Victory Garden Initiative helps them achieve that goal.
PATHFINDERS

Pathfinders is a respected, well-established, nonprofit social services organization that operates 12 programs serving over 7,000 young people and their families annually. Pathfinders brings safety, hope and healing to low-income youth and young adults dealing with homelessness, sex trafficking, sexual abuse, family problems, and mental health issues, consistent with the organization’s mission of Empowering Youth, Changing Lives. Pathfinders serves the most vulnerable young people in Milwaukee who have experienced crisis or trauma, many of who have been overlooked or rejected by other youth-serving organizations. While Pathfinders offers top notch services, it’s the individualized attention that we give each client – the principles of trauma-informed care and positive youth development that makes a difference.

MKE PLAYS

The MKE Plays initiative was created by Milwaukee 10th District Alderman Michael Murphy to re-establish parks as a priority for local government and transform the city’s most underutilized parks into enriching play environments. With the help of engaged residents and partner organizations, MKE Plays is reconstructing neighborhood parks across Milwaukee, and ensuring sustainable management of these valuable resources into the future. Restoring these parks brings much needed improvement—both structural and intrinsic—to many of the city’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods. By creating fun, safe, and attractive places for communities to play, we encourage physical activity, engaged citizenship, and local investment.

VICTORY GARDEN INITIATIVE

Victory Garden Initiative believes that every person, in every household, can connect to their food source through the act of growing it. Growing food will re-integrate us with deep ecology, guiding our culture towards a sustainable, abundant future, freed from financial inequalities. Victory Garden Initiative builds communities that grow their own food, creating a community-based, socially just, environmentally sustainable, nutritious food system for all.
