Fond du Lac Proclaimed a National Well City
On December 15, 2016, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin was awarded the coveted Well City USA designation by the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA). During the last 3 years, 26 employers representing over 7400 employees worked to adopt and implement WELCOA’s well workplace process. All 24 employers achieved a coveted Well Workplace Award designation, joining the ranks of America’s healthiest organizations. Therefore, by engaging more than 20% of the region’s working population, the Fond du Lac business earned the proclamation of Well City USA. The project was led by FABOH and community leaders who are equally committed to the health and growth of the Fond du Lac community.
Ryan Picarella, president of WELCOA, joined in the celebration and described the magnitude of this achievement, “the Fond du Lac businesses have taken significant measures to protect the health and well-being of their workforce. The magnitude of this achievement will affect the health and lives of generations to come.” Joe Moore and Allen Buechel, city and county dignitaries respectfully, presented the project with impactful proclamations and expressed, “receiving this designation is a proud moment in our cities history.”
The commitment of Fond du Lac, along with the 26 employers and advisory board members has distinguished the city of Fond du Lac as a premier community in the United States, a community where the health and well-being of the working men and women, their spouses and dependents, matters greatly! It was an honor to support and serve the employers in this project and look forward to continuing that commitment.
