Methods for Creating and Sustaining Positive Habits


This session takes a closer look at methods of influence that can be used to create and sustain new habits. A select set of methods are explained in principle, including how it might be applied or offering case studies of it applied in practice. If you are an effective change agent, this workshop will provide you with a rich resource of ideas and initiatives that you can deploy to become even more effective at creating a change-ready environment.

In this session you will:

  • Enrich your understanding of the details of influence methods and their application. 
  • Explore 16 methods (from the total 80 in the Four Powers resource database) to give participants a deeper understanding of how they work, why they work and how they can be applied in the context of wellness.

ABOUT Hanlie Van Wyk:

I am a behavioral change expert, systems strategist, author, and PhD candidate for Hate Crime Studies. My fascination with human behavior started while growing up in South Africa. From working to prevent hate crime to humanizing the workplace, my career spans three decades and four continents researching and applying behavioral change strategies to some of the most challenging behavioral problems. As director and change at Change Craft (powered by Behavioral Research and Applied Technology Laboratory). I study, develop and apply agnostic systems and practices that make change sticky and results in high performing individuals and cultures.
