Title: Restful Sleep for Your Employees: Effects of Fatigue in the Workplace
Speakers: Carri LaPlant, Health Promotion Program Coordinator and Joanna Langemak, Clinical Sleep Educator, Aurora Healthcare
Description: This session will provide you a great opportunity to learn about a concern that is likely impacting your workforce health, productivity, and workplace safety. Sleep is increasingly recognized as important to public health, with sleep insufficiency linked to motor vehicle crashes, industrial disasters, and medical and other occupational errors. Unintentionally falling asleep, nodding off while driving, and having difficulty performing daily tasks because of sleepiness all may contribute to these hazardous outcomes. Persons experiencing sleep insufficiency are also more likely to suffer from chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, depression, and obesity, as well as from cancer, increased mortality, and reduced quality of life and productivity. Come and join the conversation to discover what causes sleep insufficiency and how your organization can support restful sleep.
• Understand the impact of fatigue on overall employee well-being
• Exchange information about creating healthy workplace environments.
• Learn from experts and each other how to create high-value health promotion programs.
