Program Information:

Did you know that people spend 90% of their time indoors? Do you know that sitting is the new smoking? Did you know that you are a product of your environment? You are what you eat, what you drink, the air you breath, and the quality and quantity of sleep and movement that you get. It's time that our environments enhance our health and wellbeing rather than harm it! The time has come to elevate human health and comfort to the forefront of building design, construction, operations and implement organizational practices policies. The time has come to innovatively reinvent the environments that we work, play and live in that are not only better for the planet—but also for people. This presentation will introduce how to do this using the WELL Building Standard as the framework.

Objectives:
  • Identify environmental factors which influence human health and wellbeing.
  • Recognize the structure and 7 concepts of the WELL Building Standard and strategies to achieve them.
  • Summarize updates included in WELL v2 and Fitwel.
  • Explain how to find tools and resources.
