Mental Wellness to Reach ALL of Your Employees

Justin Kruger, CEO & Founder at Project Helping and KyndHub

Skill Building Session III
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Theme: Mental Health

Supports: Benchmark 5

Description:
Eighty percent of people living with a mental wellness challenge do not seek help. Either they don’t feel like they can seek help because of the stigma associated with mental health issues, or they don’t identify their struggles as a mental health condition at all. When we focus only on treating those who identify with a mental health diagnosis, we miss 80% of the people who need help.

In this presentation, learn how to build a mental wellness initiative that proactively builds mental wellness for all employees. Identify how to structure and market your strategy to include employees at all points of the mental wellness continuum. Make a 3-, 6-, and 12-month plan for building an inclusive initiative that can increase the mental wellness of your entire organization. Empower those who need help to seek it, and eliminate mental health stigma in the workplace.

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify the pillars of an inclusive mental wellness strategy.
  • Discuss the language to use to be inclusive to everyone.
  • Learn the necessary steps to implement.

This program is an approved provider of continuing education units (CEUs) through NWI and NCHEC.

Speaker Biography:

Justin Kruger grew up in a town of 900 people in Northwest Iowa. After living with his own mental wellness challenges for most of his adolescence and adult life, he was fortunate to stumble upon volunteerism as an outlet and tool to build his own mental health. This experience led him to be the Founder and  CEO of Project Helping, the first organization to connect the mental wellness benefits of volunteerism with community improvement. Project Helping was his first entrepreneurial venture and is focused on improving mental wellness through volunteerism and practicing kyndfulness. Justin and Project Helping also created and pioneered the concept of kyndfulness and the gamification of kyndfulness with the launch of KyndHub as a social enterprise to make practicing kyndfulness more social. In doing so they also created an actionable way for companies to improve the mental wellness and culture within their company.
