From Critic to Champion: How to Engage Leadership in Wellness

Jen Arnold, MS, RD/LDN, Owner of Redesigning Wellness

Skill Building Session I
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Theme: Leadership

Supports: Benchmark 1

Description:
We’ve been told that getting leadership support for our wellness efforts is critical to our success. But in a recent WELCOA poll, only 13% of respondents agreed that their “leaders are strong champions for wellness”. That means 77% of respondents haven’t found a way to effectively engage their leadership in their wellness efforts!

Even if you’re far removed from the C-suite or can’t seem to get the attention of middle management, there are concrete ways to increase your impact and influence with all levels of leadership. In this thought-provoking presentation, you’ll be challenged to explore new questions, flip common thinking on its head, and you’ll walk away with at least one practical action item for effectively engaging your leadership.

Learning Objectives:
  • Learn three ways to engage leadership in your organization.
  • Avoid common mistakes when asking leadership for support.
  • Discover how your mindset can help or hinder your success.

This program is an approved provider of continuing education units (CEUs) through NWI and NCHEC.
