With the pace of change both in today’s business world and in our personal lives, the ability to successfully navigate change is an important competency for each of us to cultivate.  Our personal agility and resilience impacts our effectiveness as employees and leaders, and contributes to the overall health and employee experience in our teams and organizations. This session will explore forces driving the need for change and why change readiness is an important state to cultivate in individuals and organizations. Tracy will share insight about the guiding principles of leading through change that will be valuable to apply when building or enhancing a comprehensive employee wellbeing strategy.
Learning Objectives: 
  • Learn how to see change through a new lens to understand common reasons for change resistance in ourselves and others.
  • Identify common obstacles that can affect the employee experience during times of change. 
  • Understand guiding principles of leading through change to inspire others to reach acceptance.
  • Leave with tools and templates to help you plan and sustain effective change initiatives, for employee wellbeing, or otherwise, in your teams or in your organizations.

Speaker Biography: 

Tracy Nelson, MSOD, SPHR, CPLP is a senior level human resources, organizational development, and learning/talent development leader with over 30 years of business experience in a variety of industries, including healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and non-profit. She currently serves as Vice President of Learning & Development for the University of Wisconsin Center for Professional & Executive Development, as well as adjunct faculty at the UW School of Business. She is currently a Vice President on the Executive Board of Directors for Greater Madison SHRM, Society of Human Resources Management. While serving as Vice President of Organizational Development for a Madison-based financial institution, Tracy’s learning team twice earned the international ATD BEST Award.
